Sudbury Tigers 74 - 14 H&D II

Harwich 2nd team travelled to Sudbury for what is always a tough encounter but made even more difficult as they were hampered by the abscene of skipper Craig Wilson and pack leader Sandy Sanders-crook.

For the first time in a very long while the back rows combined age outnumbered that of the front row - with Sean Mills senior making his long awaited return in the back row to partner veterans Miller and Pitham.

This weeks team we’re well marshalled by captain handsome himself - Mr Joe Francis. The whole squad dug in for a gutsy effort against what was a very strong Sudbury team , more 2nd XV than a 3rd team.

Whilst the score became one sided Harwich registered 2 try’s through young Craig Tierney, who gave a solid display, with captain Joe claiming the other, both converted Francis.

Veteran scrum half Mark Bow (aka Metal Mickey) said ‘a Shift was put in by all but nothing left in the tank in the 2nd half’

Harwich look forward to hosting Bury St Edmund next week at low road where the boys hope to return to winning ways.
