Harwich wanted to carry the momentum onto the match against Billericay.

After last weeks empathetic win over Thames, Harwich wanted to carry the moment onto the match against Billericay.

The game started off with harwich putting on the pressure early on leading to several scoring opportunities which harwich were unable to finish.

The first points of the game from the boot of Sam male, after good pressure from the forward pack. Making the score 0-3 to harwich.

Harwich continued to pile the pressure on through the backs which allowed the backs to get the ball and score through Adam Eldridge. Male converted to make the score 0-10.

Half way through the first half Damien Smith plucked the ball out of the air to score a 50 metre interception try. Male converted, score 0-17.

Josh Leeks was next on the score sheet after controlling the ball well from a difficult pass. Male converted making the score 24-0

To end the first on a high man of the match Paul Sewell scored a try after a great bit of work from the forwards. Male converted, half time score 0-29.

The second half started after very slowly for harwich allowing the opposition to get into the match.

Billericay score at the start of the first half making the score 5-29.

Harwich were caught off guard once again which lead to a converted try from Billericay which made the score 12-29.
Sean Mills Junior then got a yellow card with 4 minutes to go till the final whistle. Billericay then scored in the final play to make the final score 19-29.

Coach Cullen said that “After building good momentum in the first two weeks, the team started well in the first half, but fell asleep in the second half. Which is something we can’t do next week. Other than that it was another impressive win. Special mention to the second team recording their first win of the season against Brightlingsea at home, 49-28.”
Harwich welcome Upminster first team to low road next Saturday in what is to be a fiery and exciting match.
