The setback didn’t rattle Harwich. They continued to battle for territory and were rewarded with a well-earned try before the interval, showcasing sharp phase play and determination close to the line. Burnham, however, found another gear late in the half and managed to cross again several times, sending Harwich into the break trailing but very much still in the contest.
Harwich came out firing in the second half, scoring almost immediately to reignite the home crowd and close the gap. But Burnham’s experience and depth soon showed. They responded with a series of well-worked tries, capitalising on turnovers which stretched the Harwich defence. Their accuracy in the final quarter ultimately and unfortunately pulled the game beyond reach.
Despite the 45–10 final scoreline, Harwich showed immense heart throughout and produced several standout individual performances. Chief among them was Tommy Moore, whose relentless work rate, strong tackling, and try earned him a fully deserved Man of the Match award.
