With a two week break from matches the under 10s have been working hard on all aspects of their game and it didn’t take long for all that hard work to show as we welcomed Stowmarket to Low Road.
Stowmarket got us under way in game one after winning the toss and it was clear from the first breakdown that Harwich had brought their A game, with a great tackle from the home side followed up with a massive counter ruck which saw Harwich turn the ball over.
That pretty much set the tone for the first half until Stowmarket scored 2 trys in quick succession, but all credit to Harwich the heads stayed up and with only seconds to go William Garnham made a quick break through the Stowmarket defence to score our first try 1-2 at half-time.
The second half started off with the same tempo and within minutes Harwich had the equaliser with a superb team try started off with a great offload from Stuart McCue and ended up with Ajay Powell.
Harwich were very unlucky to concede two late try’s to lose the match but every player gave it 100%.
Game two ended in a draw and I only saw the last quarter of the match but it looked like the first, with some fantastic rugby being played and a massive try saving tackle saw Ben Smith take the player of the day but to be honest it could have been any of the other players, Bradley Durrant, Luca Mason or Oliver Hubbard.
As a team they have come a long way in this first half of the season and will only improve more after the Christmas break.
