The RFU's intention was to deliver the following positive changes :
• reduced travel time and distance for the majority
• more localised matches
• new Cup competition to begin in March 2023

The new league structure sees H&D in the newly formed Counties 2 Essex league (formerly Level 8). The Counties 2 Essex league includes the following 14 clubs:

Basildon
Billericay
Canvey Island
Clacton
Harwich & Dovercourt
Kings Cross Steelers
Maldon
Millwall
Old Brentwoods
Pegasus Palmerians
Stanford-le-hope
Writtle Wanderers

Although travel time has not been reduced for H&D. We welcome a competitive league of 14 clubs. This will result in more fixtures and more great weekends at H&D :) !
