Our Mission and Values
Our mission, across all sections of the club, is to develop our players and to provide a welcoming social atmosphere for our members. The club gives support across the community, providing a meeting space for local charity groups as well as running numerous fundraising events to the benefit of both local and national charities. More simply than that, it’s a club that offers support to all those that are a part of it or connected to it. A place where people look out for each other in good and not so good times.

We work hard to provide a safe, fun and healthy sporting recreation for the benefit of children aged four upwards living in Harwich and the surrounding areas.
We are an R.F.U. accredited club and are also registered as a Kids First Rugby Club which means we have signed up to the following pledge:

• Put children at the heart of everything we do and all decisions we make.
• Encourage fun on the pitch, through equal opportunity and realistic expectations of our children.
• Develop children’s confidence and character as players and as people, challenging any behaviour that conflicts with this.
• Build the skills of our adults to provide a safe, healthy, respectful, and enjoyable environment for children.

Did you know . .
• We offer a 4 week free trial period
• Boys & Girls, Year R - Year 7. All abilities welcome.
• We training/play once a week. Training Sundays 9:45am

• Contact rugby is only introduced from U9s (year 4). Until then children play Tag rugby !
• Reception and Year 1 children train at H&D RUFC. From Year 2, children start to play matches and tournaments !
• The RFU Half Game Regulation means that children get to play at least half a game, for all games!
• We try to keep our membership fees as low as possible. £45 (£3.75 per month) annual membership. £25 (£2.08 per month) if parents are existing members. And we provide the match shirts!
• Parents, we’ve got your back. We serve food and hot drinks on Sunday mornings!
• We like to party! We host annual Minis & Youth Christmas and End of Season Parties!
