H&D hosted Hadleigh in their final fixture. With second spot secured H&D had nothing to play for but Hadleigh needed to win to secure third place.

Harwich kicked off on bright sunny day and immediately put pressure on the Hadleigh defence. With an early penalty by Shaun Fox Harwich had a 3-0 lead.To Hadleighs credit they held firm and began to heap pressure on the home side. From a well taken drop goal Hadleigh levelled the scores at 3 points a piece. Harwich then managed to score a try against the run of play as George Brunning took a Hadleigh lineout, bounced the ball off his head but gained control to crash over for a converted try, 10-3 to Harwich. This seemed to spark Hadleigh into life as they scored a try of there own to make the scores level at 10 all at the half time break.

Some stern words from Harwich Head Coach Shane Manning left his side in know doubt there display was not acceptable and a change of attitude was needed.

From the start of the second half however Harwich seemed to of completely switched off as Hadleigh scored an easy try for a 15-10 lead and Harwich looking shell shocked. Kyle Hutchins entered the fray and quickly went about changing the game which saw Harwich back to there best. Hutchins attacked as soon as he touched the ball and set up a try out wide to Josh Newlyn. Harwich were now in there grove and Hadleigh had no answer. With Robert Edgar and Brunning disrupting Hadleighs lineout and the scrum beginning to dominate Harwich were in full stride. Strong running from Simon Palmer,Josh Leeks and Robert Wood saw Harwich continually making ground which set up 3 more tries to Jack Cairns, Elliot Hawkin and Tommy Kite. With Hutchins kicking all four conversion's Harwich had a comfortable 38-15 lead. Hadleigh however would have the last say of the game and score a deserved try, bringing an end to both teams seasons's.

Harwich find themselves finishing in second spot in Eastern Counties 2 for a second consecutive season. They will now wait to see how a possible league restructure could affect them as they enjoy a well deserved off season.
