H&D started the more brightly of the two sides and soon found themselves in the lead after five minutes. Scrum half Tom Kite moved the ball down the blind-side to props Heema and Wood, who combined well to move the ball to winger Ledua. Ledua then outpaced the chasing defence to score his sixth try of the season. Eldridge converted from in front of the posts. 7 – 0

Ten minutes later the home side extended their lead through Hayden Cowley. The Full back running in untouched after Alex Morton’s pass found the winger with space on the right wing. Eldridge converted. 14 – 0.

With fifteen minutes on the clock the game turned on its head. The Billericay pack started to dominate the home side and starve the home side of clean ball. The visitors then scored their first try of the afternoon, driving over from a lineout 5 yards out. 14 – 7. Billericay then scored two more converted tries before half time, taking the lead 14 – 21.

The second half continued in a similar fashion. But it was the Billericay backs who were now causing the H&D problems. The visitors went on the score three second half tries, un-answered. Final score Harwich & Dovercourt 14 - Billericay 38

Along with a disappointing result, Squire, Wood, Cowley and Keeley all picked up head-knocks and will be unviable for the next few weeks.

Special mention must go to H&D’s Man of the Match Simon Pitham, who worked tirelessly all match. Defending with intent until the final whistle.
