H&D Owls 102 vs 00 Lakenham Hewett

The Harwich Owls put on a masterful display of open running, quick passing, fluent fast rugby which the visiting Norfolk side had no answer to.

Lakenham had arrived with only 14 players and to their credit The Owls lent them players throughout the game, special mention to Hannah Martin who played the whole match for Lakenham, Sian Smith, Sophia Tricker, Chloe Haywood and Emma Simons who also guested for the opposition for part of the game, despite the scoreline the visitors showed an amazing attitude that never dwindled for the whole 70minutes.

The Owls finished the game as they started with try after try created by great running lines, superb support play and outstanding teamwork that led to tries for Annalise Allan (4), Rosie Kay (3), Kim Hutchins (2), Naomi Dobner (2), and one apiece for Di Wood, Sian Smith, Lauren Richardson, Sam Wilmott, Lillie Barnett, Chloe Haywood, and Becky Hare. Annalise Allan also added 6 conversions but many of the kicks suffered due to the viscious wind on the day.

The Harwich girls remain three points clear from the pack at the top of National Competition East 1 table with Woodbridge chasing them and Bury a further two points back.

Next up for The Owls is a friendly at Thurrock T-Birds on 26/11 and the next league fixture see's them travel to Southwold on 3/12 to hopefully keep up their charge for league honours.
