The Owls were back on league duty against a Harlow team who made the journey with an under-strength team to ensure the Owls had opposition for their big charity day.

Harwich scored their first try within the first couple of minutes when Yas Amber broke through the visiting defence on the halfway line to touch down. The visitors were struggling to contain the quick moving Harwich attacks and were soon behind by another try when centre Kimberley Hutchins scored a good individual try.

The home side’s forwards were dominating the breakdown areas and providing a constant supply of quick ball for scrum half Maisy Adkins to launch the Owls’ dangerous backline. Further tries from Annalise Allan, Mimi Montgomery and Amber increased the lead and only some superb tackling from the visiting full back limited the halftime score. Harlow were able to get on the scoreboard with a well struck penalty but were behind 27 - 3 when the first half ended.

The second half saw Harwich underline their dominance. With Lauren Richardson and Sophia Tricker winning nearly all the lineout ball the only set piece Harlow could work from was the scrum but the Harwich back row limited any advantage the visitors gained from this.
The Owls scored more tries through Amber, Montgomery, Hutchins and Allan who also scored the pick of all the tries when the ball was quickly handled along the back line and Allan scored in the corner having started the whole move.

As in the first half, some superb defending by the full back and Bear Haywood, a Harwich player helping the visitors because of injuries to their team, kept the score down but it was still an easy victory for the home side.

Harwich are on cup duty this weekend playing Old Northamtonians in the second round of the Junior Cup at Low Road.
